Bible in Culture and Language_Intro

Bible in Language and Culture_Intro

Bible in Language and Culture is a compilation of stories, principles of law, and figures of speech in culture today that come from the Bible. We have heard them used in popular culture such as in slang, literature, journalism, movies and other art forms. There are principles of law on the books today that show basic fairness and property rights were established in law in Bible times. The sheer number of references in the Old and New Testaments active today in language and culture is remarkable.

Omitted are laws that did not carry beyond their immediate times or are not in practice today. Omitted also are Bible verses or sayings that are pretty well limited to churches and regular churchgoers today. This is about what is appears in popular culture at large.

To include all these references into one document is too unwieldy to navigate quickly or efficiently so it is broken into 6 categories:

Tally of Repetitive Verses are quotations taken from these pages to consider the most repeated verses in the entire Bible.  They were counted and then place from most to least mentions (a maximum of 15 mentions). As repetitiveness is so important in the Bible message, this is an interesting listing. Bible in Language and Culture_Tally of Repetitive Verses.
