God identified himself often as I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery and this is repeated many times in the Old Testament. This phrase tells you - then and now - exactly who brings you to freedom.
Exodus 20:1-2 (NASB) 1 Then God spoke all these words, saying, 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
